The Three Drivers Pattern

High-share markets share three features: heavy point-of-sale incentives, dense charging infrastructure, and EV-favorable taxation. Low-share markets typically have one or more of: weak/absent BEV incentives, limited charging, hybrid-cultural preference, or pickup-heavy vehicle mix.

Volume vs Share

China leads by absolute BEV units (~7.6M in 2024). The US is #2 by absolute volume (~1.3M). Germany #3 (~530k). Norway is #1 by share but only ~115k units.
